Three Kisses

He faced her...leaned to her...kissed her pink cheek.
He whispered..."I love you"...and walked through the door.
she turned away slowly...sad he was gone.
His head appeared quickly, he smiled from the entrance.
He blew her three kisses and told her to keep them.
She caught each one, fist squeezed tight...not going to drop them;
She placed them in her pocket.

She remembered the phone call...the soft voice that spoke,
"We're sorry he's gone...we'll make up for your loss."
Good time for a finish, good time for her end?
But...no, she felt nothing - her heart frozen shut.
The sofa was soft and she drifted asleep.
Dreams filled with madness, feelings escaped;
But when she awoke her feelings were inside,
Still confined to her sleep.

She walked in a daze and then realized with shock;
Her hand went to her pocket, found treasure.
A tear from her eyes-shut-tight rolled down her face,
She cried like a baby...she had found his last breath.

She withdrew the first kiss and pressed it soft on her cheek.
The second she used on the tear on her chin.
The third was for keeping...no need to use that;
She lifted it gently, carried it to the mantle.
Her eyes went to his photo, onto his smile,
She smiled, his last kiss would sit there...just...for awhile.
This is a poem that I thought of one night whilst sitting on the couch and jumped up, raced out of the room and typed it up straight, this is it with no editing! This is the original idea...enjoy!

:hug: 's to everyone
